Sonora Elementary Student Wins ArcGIS Online Mapping Contest

ArcGIS Online is an internet geographic informations program run by ESRI. The website has numerous functions, but one of the most utilized features for educational purposes is the online story map. Users can create layers to map different variables such as precipitation, topography, parks, and more. Recently Dr. O’Connell, a professor in UCA’s Department of Geography, helped with an ArcGIS Online Mapping contest for grade students across Arkansas to compete in. Wyatt Nelson of Sonora Elementary won this year’s competition with his story map showcasing haunted sites within the state. You can read more here.
